Biografia
Flora Villaumié (1999) è un’artistavisivafranceseche vive a Bruxelles e ha studiato alla Scuola di Belle Arti di Bruxelles. La sua praticaartistica si concentra principalmentesullastampad’arte con incisione, autopubblicazione e installazione.
A prima vista, le immaginiappaiono calme e rassicuranti, ma dettaglimaliziosi le completano. Dalle ossessionieffimerealleosservazioni, l’autrice traduce la violenzadellavitaquotidiana e i suoiparadossi.
Ha presentato il suolavoroattraversomostrecollettiveprincipalmentea Bruxelles, come Morsure da Sterput e il PremioLouis Schmidtall’ULBnel 2025. Ha partecipato al Premiodell’Incisionedel 2025 presso il Printed Art Center di La Louvière (Centre de la gravure et de l’image imprimée – Belgio). È stata inoltreinvitata per unastampamaratonanel 2022 in occasionedell’inaugurazionedello studio artistico Fructôsea Dunkerque (Francia). Nel 2024 è stata invitata per unamostra personale presso il caffèdelMuseodella Fonderie di Bruxelles.
Fino alla fine del 2026, una sua incisione è in tournée in Belgio, già effettuata ad Anversa (Klooster van de Grauwzusters) e a Gand (De Krook) nel 2025 con la mostra Ma grafica organizzata dalla Fondazione Maserell.

Gaming Rules
“Regole del gioco” affronta temi quali le disuguaglianze sociali, l’accesso al potere e le buone condizioni di vita. Infatti, i bambini, vestiti in modo sontuoso nello stile del Secolo d’Oro olandese, cercano a tutti i costi di mantenere il controllo sulla ricchezza e sul funzionamento della società a loro favore, sebbene la loro legittimità nel mantenere questo potere sia messa in discussione a causa della fortuna accumulata attraverso problemietici.
Il confronto con il passatocapitalista, patriarcale e colonialista è qui sovvertito da azioniapparentementeinsignificanti dei piccolipersonaggi. L’operad’arte invita il pubblico a mettere in discussionemezzi d’azionealternativi a quelliofferti da unademocrazia in declino. Le azioni, per quanto piccole, se raccolte e rinnovateregolarmente, possonoportare a grandi sconvolgimenti verso unasocietà più egualitaria e attenta all’ambiente.
Night Shop
Arrivare in un Negozio Notturno significa immergersi in un’atmosfera scintillante e accogliente in un contesto di emergenza. È possibile trovare articoli di ogni genere per iniziare o concludere una bella serata. Lattine di birra economiche, accendini o pasta sono gli argomenti di conversazione preferiti dai consumatori più esigenti. Molti drammi si svolgono su questo palcoscenico; il negozio notturno è uno spettacolo continuo a qualsiasi ora.
La bombe atomique
Per uscire, è molto importante che la mia amica sia preparata, «de se mettre en bombe», come dice lei. Vuole essere la protagonista della serata, perché non sappiamo cosa ci riserva il futuro. Forse una bomba atomica potrebbe caderci addosso all’alba.
Morbide
Questa serie di immagini è un incontro di molti momenti visivi che ho colto in un quartiere di Bruxelles mentre andavo al lavoro. Tra negozi economici e negozi di antiquariato, oggetti abbandonati per strada mentre i piccioni cercano qualcosa di buono. Cerco di creare incontri tra il grossolano e i dettagli delicati. Questo incontro crea un’atmosfera unica in cui lo scarto e la preziosità sono i protagonisti di paesaggi in continuo movimento.
Biography
Flora Villaumié (1999)is a french visualartistbased in Brussels and studying in the Fine Art School of Brussels. Her practice ismainly art printwithengraving, self publication and installation.
In the first viewing, the visuals look calm and comforting but mischievousdetails are completingthem. From ephemeral obsessions to observations, shetraduces the violence of the daily life and their paradoxes.
Besidesherstudies, she has presentedherworkthrough group exhibitions mainly in Brussels, like Morsure at Sterput and the Louis Schmidt Price at ULB in 2025. She has participated to the Engraving Price of 2025 at the Printed Art Center at La Louvière (Centre de la gravure et de l’image imprimée – Belgium). She has also been invited for a marathon printin 2022 for the openingdays of the artistic studio Fructôse in Dunkerque (France). In 2024, shewasinvited for a solo exhibition at the café of the Fonderie Museum in Brussels.
Until the end of 2026, one of herengravingis on a tour of Belgiumalreadydone in Antwerp (Klooster van de Grauwzusters) and Gand (De Krook) in 2025 with the Magrafica exhibition organised by the Maserell Founds.

Gaming Rules
“Gaming Rules” address issues of social inequalities, access to power, and good living conditions. Indeed, children richly dressed in the style of the Dutch Golden Age try at all costs to maintain their grip on wealth and the functioning of society in their favor, although their legitimacy in retaining this power is questionable due to the fortune they have accumulated through ethical concerns.
The confrontation with the capitalism, patriarchal, and colonialist past is subverted here by seemingly minor actions of the small characters. The artwork invites the public to question alternative means of action beyond those offered in a declining democracy. Actions, no matter how small, when gathered and regularly renewed, can lead to great upheavals toward a more egalitarian society that is mindful of its environment.
Night Shop
Coming to a Night Shop is entering a shiny and welcoming atmosphere in an emergency context. It’s possible to find all kinds of articles to begin or finish a good evening. Cheap cans of beer, lighters, or pasta are the subjects of topics for the noble consumers. Many dramas appear on this scene; the night shop is a constant show at any hour.
La bombe atomique
To go out, it is very important for my friend to get prepared, «de se mettreen bombe» as she says. She wants to be the highlight for a night because we don’t know what the future holds. Maybe an atomic bomb can fall on us at dawn.
Morbide
This series of images is a meeting of many visual moments I caught in a quarter of Brussels while I was going to work. Between cheap shops and antique stores, objects left on the streets while the pigeons try to find some good treat. I try to do the encounters between the gross and the delicate details. This meeting creates a unique atmosphere where the waste and the preciousness are the main actors of landscapes in constant movement.
